Dear students,

As I sit here to write this blog today your one exam is already over. Hope you have done well.I am sharing a few tips to understand the purpose behind the various terms used in framing questions and writing good answers and completing the paper on time with appropriate answers.

The following words are commonly found in essay test questions. Understanding them is essential to success on these kinds of questions. Study this sheet thoroughly. Know these words backward and forwards.
  • ANALYZE: Break into separate parts and discuss, examine, or interpret each part.

  • COMPARE: Examine two or more things. Identify similarities and differences. Comparisons generally ask for similarities more than differences. (See Contrast.)

  • CONTRAST: Show differences. Set in opposition.

  • CRITICIZE: Make judgments. Evaluate comparative worth. Criticism often involves analysis.

  • DEFINE: Give the meaning; usually a meaning specific to the course or the subject. Determine the precise limits of the term be defined. Explain the exact meaning. Definitions are usually short.

  • DESCRIBE: Give a detailed account. Make a picture with words. List characteristics, qualities and parts.

  • DISCUSS: Consider and debate or argue the pros and cons of an issue. Write about any conflict. Compare and contrast.

  • ENUMERATE: List several ideas, aspects, events, things, qualities, reasons, etc.

  • EVALUATE: Give your opinion or cite the opinion of an expert. Include evidence to support the evaluation.

  • ILLUSTRATE: Give concrete examples. Explain clearly by using comparisons or examples.

  • INTERPRET: Comment upon, give examples, describe relationships. Explain the meaning. Describe, then evaluate.

  • OUTLINE: Describe the main ideas, characteristics, or events. (Does not necessarily mean *write a Roman numeral/letter outline*.)

  • PROVE : Support with facts (especially facts presented in class or in the test).

  • STATE: Explain precisely.

  • SUMMARIZE: Give a brief, condensed account. Include conclusions. Avoid unnecessary details.

  • TRACE: Show the order of events or progress of a subject or event.
     Good luck !!!!

Welcome back to school

                                            WELCOME MESSAGE

                                                                                                                      25th June 2019

Dear Students and Colleagues,

As June is slipping away our excitement to come back to school is also taking high tide mode. Holidays are always a time to catch up on things which we couldn't do when we are following our routine during school days. It is important to relax our mind and recharge it with play, screen time, travel, pursuing hobbies, studying at our pace, love, and affection of family and friends. Once we are recharged then learning and working becomes fun or we are nagging monsters always complaining and finding faults with parents, peers or system and ready to poke anyone who touches us. So Fill these last few days of remaining holidays with laughter fun and mirth.

In these last days before we join back to work with focus and proceed in an effective manner to attain the goals set for us. Many of you would have completed the assignments, some of you would be busy in beg borrow steal mode to complete it. :) Those in the last mode are at least knowing the importance of completion of assigned tasks. Dear children this small awareness makes a great difference in our winning habits. Once we learn to take all the instructions seriously we have no problems with our seniors or authorities ( for students, your teachers now) As this helps to keep us calm. In a calm mind only best learning happens and creativity blossoms. This sets us on the road to success. When we are on the path to success we tend to be more forgiving and kind to people surrounding us, which leads to appreciation and compliments. Our self-esteem boosts and we feel confident of ourselves. We become unstoppable to reach our goals, as no one can come in the way of the person who believes he can do it.
The ones who think why should we? are falling in a trap to nowhereland.... leading to nowhere.

On our path to success people who surround us matter. If we encompass ourselves with thorns we can never come out without wounds. Surround yourself with people who will help you improve, elevate you and give you the skills to take you to the desired destination.

Dear students and colleagues, your school is waiting to welcome you back to navigate you to success. Good luck and happiness to you Always ......

My First Post

Dear students,
Technology is stepping deeper into our lives. Each and every career we will pursue in the future will be amalgamated with technology. If we are avoiding it, then we have chosen a path which will lead us not closer to our desired destination. As technology has impregnated each aspect of our lives too, it is important to decide where to use so as to maximize its benefits. next comes the time we devote to using it for deriving pleasure or relaxation through social media sites or youtube or wattsapp chats. We have heard us parents and teachers say that excess of everything is bad, I ditto the saying and would like you to reflect on it with technology in mind. We should use technology for improving our understanding of concepts, knowing where we are in context to the kids of the world. It should help us improve our 21st-century skills-i.e. communication, confidence, creativity, and leadership. It should help us to improve our preparation for facing the future with a prepared mind.
Avoiding the use of technology will confine us with the learnings of the 20th century, it will be like stepping into the sea for scuba diving without the gear.
You should start on a good note by using the school blog regularly and gaining the confidence of your parents that technology is enhancing your knowledge and personality.
good luck, n best wishes for working on this thought.

Poonam Saxena.
